Ikorodu City players and officials were held hostage by Shooting Stars fans following Sunday’s encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The Oga Boys held Shooting Stars to a 0-0 draw in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 32 fixture.

The visitors’ team bus was reportedly vandalized by Shooting Stars fans after the game.

It also took the intervention of the police to stop the fans from gaining access to the dressing room.

Ikorodu City were held at the stadium for at least two hours after the game and were escorted out by military officials.

Shooting Stars are expected to be sanctioned by the NPFL following the incident.

Meanwhile, Rivers United reduced Remo Stars lead at the top of the NPFL table to five points after they defeated them 1-0

Boluwaji David headed an 84th match winner for Rivers United to consolidate their second place in the standings with 55 points from 32 matches.
