NSCDC arrest two over brutality of a 12-year-old girl

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested two people, mother and son, identified as Adamo Yinusa and her son, Saheed Yinusa for brutalizing a twelve-year-old girl, Sukurat Suleiman, for misplacing the sum of two thousand five hundred Naira, while hawking cow skin, popularly call Pomo, in Oko-Olowo Area of Ilorin.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, disclosed this while briefing Journalists at the State Command in Ilorin the state capital.

He said that the command was hinted at by a concerned citizen about the severe injuries inflicted on the little girl by her aunt and uncle.

She was said to have been beaten with a strong belt of a grinding machine, thereby inflicting deep and severe injuries all over her body

The command’s image maker, Olasunkanmi Ayeni also maintained that at least ten similar cases have been reported at the command in the last three months, adding that there are plans to carry out a sensitization programme against the barbaric act.

According to the NSCDC, the suspects would be charged in court to face the consequences of their crimes.
