Niger State houses 4 Hydroelectric Power dams and contributes to the national grid.

Due to the recent wave of attacks on the transmission lines by vandals in the North West and North East putting millions of Nigerians into darkness, the Commandant of the Niger State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamu Kambra says it has enhanced its surveillance to secure the critical national assets in Niger State.

In furtherance to the determination, the command says it has succeeded in arresting 4 suspected streetlight vandals with 12 pieces of the exhibits at Tafa to Dikko area by the anti-vandal team.
