The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC is advising business owners requiring the services of private security guards to engage only registered security companies.
The Imo State Commandant of the Corps, Micheal Ogar gave the advice in Owerri while parading a man with his four employees for illegally operating a private security company in the state.
Michael Oga explained that unlicensed security outfits were undermining security in the state.
The law provides that anyone who wishes to operate a private security company must first seek approval from the NSCDC before commencement to avoid security breaches.
He warned that patronizing an unlicensed private guard company poses security risks to their clients.
The suspects would be charged to court for violating the law regulating security management.
Owner of the private guard company, Christian Esomonu who pleaded for pardon said he had registered the company with NSCDC in Abuja and was awaiting his operational license.
The groups were arrested following effective intelligence gathering by officers of the command in owerri, imo state.
