NSCDC constantly involved in rescue Operations, Disaster Management-Bauchi Commandant

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Bauchi State, Nurudeen Abdullahi, says the command is constantly participating in rescue operations during emergencies.

He also says the command had been assisting the displaced population, in collaboration with other stakeholders in disaster management and farmer-Herders clashes

He was speaking during the commemoration of the International Civil Defence Day, (ICDO), in the management of Displaced Populations in the face of disaster and crisis.

The day, 1st of March is set aside by the International Civil Defence Organisation , to bring to the attention of the world, as well as raise awareness of their preparedness against accidents or disaster.

In Bauchi, the day was marked with a colourful parade of its special female squad.

The State Commandant, Nurudeen Abdullahi, said the command is focusing its attention towards safeguarding the agro-allied investment, to boost agriculture in the state, and other security challenges.

The Command had earlier visited an orphanage home in a bid to celebrate the day with orphans and vulnerable children.

The theme for this year’s celebration is, “Civil Defence and Management of Displaced Populations in the Face of Disaster and Crisis; Role of Volunteers.
