NSCDC nabs 27 suspects, impounds 108 unauthorised fertiliser in Zamfara

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Zamfara State Command, has arrested 27 suspects for various offences.

The offences ranged from phone snatching and stealing.

Others include belonging to gangs of thieves and involvement in the illicit trade of granular ammonium sulphate, GAS, and Muriate of Potash, (MOP), in the Gusau metropolis.

The Public Relations Officer of the Corps who paraded the suspects at the State Command Headquarters in Gusau, on behalf of the state’s Commandant Sani Mustapha, said twenty-two male suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons, and who belonged to some criminal gangs, that specialised in phone snatching, and other criminal activities in the state.

The NSCDC’s image maker also disclosed that three girls within the 20 years age bracket were arrested with substances suspected to be intoxicants.

He said that one of the suspects was arrested with a military uniform which he uses to harass his victims in the Gusau metropolis.

The Public Relations Officer told journalists that about one hundred and eight unauthorised fertilisers meant for industrial blending of fertiliser were impounded from some illicit dealers in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

The Corps said that it will charge the suspects in court after investigations are concluded.
