NSCDC parades suspected Fraudsters, thieves in Zamfara

Seven suspects have been apprehended by the Zamfara State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for various offences.

The Public Relations Officer of the State’s Command, Ikor Oche, said the offences included defrauding, vandalism, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen items.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Zamfara State Command, Ikor Oche who paraded the seven suspects on behalf of the State’s Commandant, Akushie Sparks, said one of the suspects identified as Muhammad Lawal, 26-year-old, was rearrested for defrauding people through his Point Of Sale, POS business in Gusau, the state capital.

Muhammad Lawal was said to have been operating Point of Sale business and commercial phone charging at the same time in the Gusau metropolis.

According to the corps Public Relations Officer, one Rabiu Sani reported that he took his phone to Suspect Lawal’s shop for charging on the 20th of August, but the suspect dishonestly used the phone to defraud him of N1milion Naira.

Oche said operatives of the corps also arrested two suspects named, Abdulnasir Babangida, 27-year-old and Adamu Abdullahi, 29-year-old for stealing four hundred and eighty-four litres of diesel from Iron Gas company in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state where they worked as security guards.

Other suspects arrested by the corps are one Abubakar Hadi, 27-year- old from Bakin Kasuwa, and Murtala Abdulaziz, 23-year-old of Shagon Namau Areas of Tsafe Local Government.

They were arrested in connection with the vandalisation of Telecom Mast Angle Iron at Tsafe metro.

The exhibits recovered from the suspects include 14 gallons of diesel of 25 litres each and a bunch of angle iron masts.
