The commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia State Usman Alfadarai, says the corps will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote peace and security in the state.
Alfadarai said this after leading personnel of the NSDC in the command in a road walk for peace through major streets of Umuahia the state capital as part of activities to mark the 2024 International Day of Peace.
The NSDC personnel, accompanied by the NSCDC band, which added glamour to the atmosphere at the event, carried banners, placards, and posters with various messages advocating peace and harmony.
The State Commandant, commended participants for their dedication to the cause of peace and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of the people of Abia State.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Cultivating a Culture of Peace.”
