The National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Chris Isiguzo has called on the Nigerian government to extend rail transportation to states with critical mineral resources like Kogi State.
The NUJ President who said this when he was taken on project tour in Lokoja Kogi State, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for what he called prudent management of scarce resources.
The NUJ President Chris Isiguzo was in the Confluence State for the 2021 Press Week of the Kogi State Council of the NUJ and stayed back briefly to ascertain the claims of infrastructural projects being executed by the state government.

He noted that the life span of Nigerian roads would be longer if complemented with rail infrastructure
The NUJ President expressed concern that the amount of mineral resources being taken from the Confluence state in commercial quantity by multinationals does not reflect on the infrastructure of the state.
