The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG says it would withdraw services nationwide if the Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed fail to retract his statement on the circumstances of the death of her member who was a fuel attendant in Abia State.
At the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 briefing held in Abuja on Thursday, Mohammed told the world that the late petrol station attendant, Chibuisi Okameme was hit by a vehicle during a protest and not by a policeman as alleged by NUPENG.
The Union says it takes exception to the twisting of facts explaining that the policeman is in detention after making a confessional statement. The statement further says specimen of bullet was removed from the body of the deceased during postmortem.
