OAU Lost two Lecturers in two days

Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has described the death of two lecturers of the institution within two days as unfortunate and painful.

The university lost a Professor of Paediatrics who was also the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, OAUTHC, Prof. Jerome Elusiyan.

 Prof. Elusiyan was said to have been killed by bandits while on an official assignment along Benin/Ekpoma road on Friday.

While the Acting Head of Department of Dramatic Arts, Dr Victoria Oluwaremilekun, died suddenly on Sunday. The cause of her death is yet to be confirmed.

However, reacting to the death of Dr Oluwaremilekun, the Public Relations Officer of the University,  Abiodun Olanrewaju, described her death as shocking.

He disclosed that the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodode, had directed the OAUTHC to conduct a full autopsy in order to unravel the cause of her death.

Dr Oluwaremilekun was said to be hale and hearty, prior to her death, as she took an active part in the university’s convocation which was held on Saturday.
