A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Tuesday struck out charges filed in the case of the murder of Timothy Adegoke, the postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, who was killed in his hotel room at Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife.
Justice Modupe Osho-Adebiyi, the trial judge struck out the case after police lawyer Ochogwu Ogbe, moved an application for discontinuance of the case
On grounds that they needed to conduct further investigations into the murder.
Coroner’s inquest has linked his death to intense haemorrhage due to severe traumatic injuries.
The Force Central Investigations Department (FCID) had filed charges of attempted felony, conspiracy, unlawful interference with Adegoke’s corpse, and tampering with the hotel’s receipt and CCTV camera with the intent to destroy evidence that would prove that the deceased Adegoke visited the hotel, against the Chairman of Hilton hotels, Raheem Adedoyin.

The police allegedly excluded Adedoyin from the murder charge.
However, counsel to the deceased family, Femi Falana confirmed to ait.live that fresh charges will be filed at the osun state High Court soon, the state where the cause of action originated from.
Those charged for the murder are 23 year old Adedeji Adesola, 24 year old Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba and Oluwale Lawrence both 37 year old; Oyetunde Kazeem, 38; Adebayo Kunle, 35; while others are still at large.
Previously, the federal high court in Abuja in a fundamental human rights suit filed by Adedoyin ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to allow the then detained Adedoyin to access medical facilities of his choice pending the hearing and determination of the suit a request granted by Justice Inyang Ekwo .
