Management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL in Abeokuta, Ogun State, South-West Nigeria is demanding public apology from the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Inspector-General of Police.
The management said the apology should be widely published in all major media platforms, including television, print, and social media, within the next seven days, or the library will pursue litigation.
OOPL Managing Director, Vitalis Ortese, who made the demand at a media conference in Abeokuta also demanded over N3 billion in compensation for bodily injuries suffered by 100 persons and property destroyed during the raids.

OOPL management described the August 10th invasion of its premises by EFCC operatives from 1am to 3pm as unlawful, an assault, and an infringement of fundamental human rights. They want an investigation by relevant security agencies and for the report to be made public.
According to the management, the library premises was invaded by a group of over 50 armed men who were shooting guns and threatening to kill people. The men who claimed to be from the EFCC, said they were acting on an intelligence tip about a private event in the amusement facility of the complex.
