The Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo-Okon Abasi Otu has called for involvement of traditional rulers in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, saying fighting corruption should be from the grassroots.
According to the Calabar Monarch, involving the traditional rulers as various levels will bring quick results and imbue morals into the Citizenry.

The Efik Monarch was speaking when he received a team from the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, led by the Commissioner in charge of Monitoring , Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, in his Palace.
The traditional ruler called for an open door system that would make everybody feel they belong to Nigeria, noting that fighting corruption starts from home as parents have to bring up their children with high moral value.
Earlier in his remarks,the Code of Conduct Bureau Commissioner in charge of Monitoring, Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, said the team was in the Palace to seek for support of the traditional rulers in the fight against corruption.
He expressed concern at the way funds meant for the general good of all are been filtered away by few individuals by virtue of their positions and the office they occupied.
