Nigerian track stars Favour Ofili and Ese Brume have been listed to compete at the 2025 Atlanta City Games alongside world record holder Tobi Amusan in athletics event scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at Piedmont Park, Atlanta,

The trio will be representing Nigeria in their respective events at the meet, which will feature some of the world’s top athletes aimed at bringing track and field closer to the public.

Amusan, who last competed at the Diamond League meets in Xiamen and Keqiao, where she clocked 12.74 and 12.66 seconds respectively in the women’s 100 metres hurdles, will aim to sharpen her form ahead of the summer championships.

Ofili, fresh from her participation in the Miami Grand Slam Track 100 and 200 metres, will line up in the women’s 150 metres race, where she will face a tough challenge against Jamaica’s Ashanti Moore and Britain’s Daryll Neita.

Multiple-time global medallist in the long jump, Ese Brume, is also set to make her second season appearance after making a debut at the 115th Drake Relays in late April. She will compete against elite jumpers, including Quanesha Burks and Jasmine Moore of the United States.

The Atlanta City Games is a competition held outside the traditional stadium setting, allowing fans close-up access to world-class athletics. The event will feature sprint races, hurdles, middle-distance contests, long jump, and pole vault events.

The participation of Amusan, Ofili, and Brume comes in the wake of Nigeria’s disappointing withdrawal from the World Relays in Guangzhou, where Amusan and Ofili had been slated to compete before visa issues forced the country to pull out.
