Some youths in Oghara community, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have called for justice over the killing of Elliott Ofa the People Democratic Party PDP Councillorship candidate in the forthcoming Local Council Election in the state

During the protest, they appealed to the Inspector General of Police to investigate the brutal murder of the Politician

For the youths, January 11th will forever remain a sad day because that was the day they lost Elliot Ofa to armed kidnappers alleged to be fulani herdsmen.

According to the youths, the widely known story that late Elliot Ofa and four others were returning from the Delta State Independent Electoral commission screening when kidnappers shot at them, killing only the deceased on the spot does not go down well with them and totally unacceptable.

Also speaking, the elder brother of the deceased, who said his brother died under controversial Circumstances frowned at those he alleged were using the Office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5 to interfere with the investigation

The story however took a new dimension when one Blessing Okoro, wife to one Monday Okoro who is one of the suspects in police custody narrated how she paid 1.2million naira to herdsmen to procure her husband’s release but that he was still in the police custody

Reacting to the protest, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Tijani Momoh called for calm saying ,the job of the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG was to oversee the affairs of the State Command and debunked allegations of meddlesomeness by the AIG in the matter.

The protesters also called on the Inspector General of Police to intervene so that those who murdered Elliot Ofa will be unravelled and brought to book.
