Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Adaeze Oreh says the construction of cottage and specialist hospitals in Ogoni land embarked upon by the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project, HYPREP, will enhance people’s access to quality health care services when completed.
Adaeze who said this during a visit to the management of HYPREP in Port Harcourt said the state ministry of health and the primary healthcare management board will collaborate with the commission to ensure the quality of services that will be provided align with set targets.

The HYPREP project coordinator, Zabbey Nenibarini, expressed satisfaction with the existing partnership with the State Ministry of Health and appealed for support for the public health study audit that will soon commence in Ogoniland.
With the prevalence of visual impairment among the people of Ogoni as a result of the hydrocarbon in the environment, the HYPREP chief told the commissioner to integrate the observations in her posting to include medical personnel that can take care of the patients in Ogoni land
