The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Ogun State Sector Commander, Umar Ahmed says the Lagos-Ibadan expressway remains one of the most dangerous roads along the Ogun corridor, with the highest number of road crashes.
Ahmed who disclosed this in an exclusive interview granted Africa independent Television said the highway recorded approximately 53 percent of the road crashes within the corridor between January and October 2022.
The FRSC Ogun State Boss said 996 Road Traffic Crashes were recorded from January to October 2021 compared to 793 Road Crashes in 2022, with a fatality figure of 310 deaths in 2021 and 301 deaths in 2022 within the same period.
Ahmed Urges drivers and road users to obey traffic rules and regulations always, to avert avoidable deaths on the nation’s highways.
