Ogun State on Friday, joined the rest of the country to celebrate Nigeria at sixty one.
Governor Dapo Abiodun in his independence speech in Abeokuta, Ggun State, called on Nigerians to be United, at this critical stage of nationhood, noting that despite the challenges, the country remains steadfast in achieving the dreams of the founding fathers.
The State governor, said for Nigeria to achieve greatness, the citizens must also demonstrate patriotism in their actions.

The highpoint of the occasion was the cutting of the Independence anniversary cake.
The 61st Independence Anniversary was well attended by key government officials, students, trade unions among others in Ogun State.
