Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has called for the establishment of a military Forward Operation Base in the eastern part of the state to help curb criminal activities there.
Governor Abiodun made the call when he received the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Farooq Mijinyawa, who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Abeokuta.
Abiodun said the high volume of commercial activities in the east of the country also comes with criminal activities which can only be curbed by effective security presence.
Major General Mijinyawa, in his remarks, acknowledged the synergy within the security agencies adding that an inter-agency security service will soon embark on an Ember Month security operation in the South East
