People’s Redemption Party, PRP, Governorship candidate in Ogun State, South-West Nigeria, Professor David Bamgbose is dead.
Bamgbose died at the Lantoro Hospital in the state capital, Abeokuta on Friday of a brief illness. His death is coming one week after he picked the PRP Governorship ticket in the state.

Confirming the death to newsmen, his personal assistant, who is also the Assistant Senior Pastor of Peace and Love Church, Oduntan Olayemi said Professor Bamgbose had complained of tiredness a day earlier, and was taken to hospital around Olomore, where he was referred to the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta for proper medical care.
Thereafter he was admitted at the Lantoro Hospital where he was on oxygen till Friday evening.
The late Governorship candidate is survived by his wife, Mary Bamgbose and six children.
