Commercial motorcycle riders in Kogi State have called on the appropriate authorities to do the needful to stop alleged multiple levies by the State Government and incessant harassment by the police or else they will be compelled to shut their services in the State.
The Commercial motorcycle riders made the appeal during their protest against the government and police at their union office in Lokoja on Monday.
Protesting commercial motorcycle riders who came out in their numbers to register their grievances complained about what they called persistent extortions and harassment from officers of the Nigeria Police force which has affected their businesses negatively.
The aggrieved protesters also expressed dissatisfaction with the State Government over an alleged multiple levies which they say is not being done transparently.
The Head, Corporate Affairs, Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Muhammed MOUKTAR Idris, who addressed the motorcycle riders, cleared the air on the matter concerning multiple levies on the motorcyclist union.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, also reacted to the allegations leveled against police personnel.
For now, the aggrieved protesters are appealing to the kogi State government to restore their leaders in the collection of daily revenue, warning that they might be compelled to down their tools if their demands are not met.
