Governor Ifeanyi Okowas’s empowerment programmes which dates back from his assumption of office in 2015 are said to be a Special Purpose Vehicle with the primary aim of raising entrepreneurs and managers of businesses.

Programme Co-ordinator Onyeisi Nkenchor who made this disclosure in Asaba during the distribution of starter packs to the graduands of the state’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in Fashion Design & Tailoring, said so far the programmes have lived up to its mandates by lifting many unemployed youths to be owners of different enterprises.

According to the step Programme cor-ordinator, the 246 graduands who are being attended to in batches of 80 just like a seed are expected to reproduce as much as other unemployed youths having received their starter packs made up of cash of 100.000 Naira each for shop rent and full compliments of fashion design and Tailoring equipment.
Some of the beneficiaries poured out their hearts relaying their pre and post empowerment life which they said has changed their life story for good.
