Displaced Okuama residents living at the internally displaced persons IDP camp situated at Ewu in Ughelli South local government area of Delta state, have appealed to the federal and state government for material assistance to enable them cope with the predicament of loosing their entire belongings and homes when the military razed down their community few months ago.
They say life at the camp is very difficult especially living without basic amenities such a food, decent shelter and clean drinking water.
Their pathetic condition has reawakened calls from traditional rulers and human rights advocates on the need for government to come to their aid.

For some them, there is the anxiety that they may never return to their ancestral home while others have accepted the reality that with assistance from government, they are prepared to start life afresh.
