A lecturer with the Delta state university, Abraka, Professor Arthur Ekpekpo, who was decleared wanted by the Nigerian army over the gruesome murder of 17 soldiers in Okuama community, Ughelli South local government area of Delta state, has been reportedly arrested.
According to local sources, the professor whose photograph appeared number 2 on the wanted list released by the army was arrested on Sunday night at Nigerian timber city, Sapele by security operatives in military uniforms.
ait.live gathered that, four other persons including two prominent chiefs of the kingdom and indigenes of Okuama were also arrested by officials suspected to be from the state security services, SSS, early hours of Monday morning at different locations in Ughelli and Udu areas of the state.

Meanwhile, neither the army nor the state police command have issued any official statement with regards to the development at the time of filling the report.
It would be recalled that in March 2023, suspected gunmen attacked and murdered seventeen military personnel including four officers while on peace mission over a land dispute between Okuama and Okoloba communities.
