The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Ishola Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, has pledged to support the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in tackling the menace of illegal mining activities in Ibadan.
Oba Balogun made the pledge on Tuesday when he received in his palace, the Acting Zonal Commander of the Ibadan Command of the EFCC, Halima Rufa’u on a familiarization visit.
While commending the Acting Zonal Commander for expediting positive action as regards land and property fraud cases, he stressed the need for the Commission to do more in curbing the menace of cybercrime and other related fraudulent activities amongst the youths.
The Acting Zonal Commander thanked Oba Balogun for receiving her while assuring the paramount ruler that the Ibadan Zonal Command will do more to curb the menace of cybercrime in the State.
Furthermore, She said the Commission would continue to tackle the activities of illegal mineral operators that have undermined the development of the State and the Country through non-payment of royalties, taxes and other dues.
In another development, the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ahmad Nuhu Bamali has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for demonstrating resilience in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the Country despite challenges.
The Emir gave the commendation when he received a team from the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC led by Aisha Abubakar on a familiarization visit to the emirate council.

He expressed delight that the visit has afforded him and members of the council greater insight into the activities of the EFCC and promised to support the Commission.
The Emir also says any case of fraudulent activity that may arise in his domain will be brought to the Commission for investigation.
In her remarks, Aisha Abubakar said the reason for the visit was to further seek the support of the Emirate Council in ensuring that the anti-corruption message is relayed down to the grassroots.
She said a corrupt free society will foster peace, unity, and security for all citizens.
