Wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu has said that empowering women is central to achieving all Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG-5 which is on achieving gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls to have decent work and economic growth.
Mrs Tinubu said this while performing the presentation of household empowerment items to women in Bida local government area of Niger State.
The empowerment is a collaboration between the wife of the president’s Renewed Hope Initiative and the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals.
The president’s wife who was represented by the wife of Niger State Governor, Fatima Bago explained that the gesture was to equip the women with necessary tools and resources to build successful businesses and contribute to the prosperity of the nation.

Tinubu further noted that the empowerment program aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritizes inclusivity, economic growth, and sustainable development for all Nigerians, especially women’s economic empowerment.
The wife of the President urged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.
Items distributed to the women include Deep-Chest Freezers, Gas Cookers with Ovens, Generators and Industrial Grinding Machines.
