Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has engaged about 100 primary and secondary school children, between the ages of 10 and 17, under a young farmers support programme in Bauchi State.

According to the President’s wife, agriculture is not just about farming; it’s about growth, sustainability, and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

The launch of the Young Farmers Support Programme is said to be under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative programme.

Bauchi First Lady, who’s the state’s Renewed Hope Initiative coordinator, Aisha Bala, represented the Nigerian First Lady.

The beneficiaries of the programme, who are teenage boys and girls from primary and secondary schools, were charged to embrace the opportunity with enthusiasm and commitment, that their passion in shopping for the next generation of farmers is invaluable.

The young farmers, having being equipped with some farming implements and a starter’s pack, express readiness for the task.

After being tasked by the president’s wife to play a role in ensuring that the agricultural industry remains robust and successful, the young farmers were supported with N100,000 each, with a kilogram of hybrid maize, a hoe, and a tea tap for watering and nurturing their plants.
