Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu is in Ondo State for a three-day working visit in preparation for next month’s governorship election in the State.
Prof Yakubu will during the visit, interface with the leadership of the commission and other stakeholders in the state to seek their support for a hitch-free election in October.
Briefing newsmen at the Akure airport, Professor Yakubu said necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the governorship election billed for October 10 is hitch-free.

He said new card readers from Oyo state have arrived the state and will be reconfigured to replace over 5,000 pieces that got burnt in a recent inferno at the commission’s headquarter in Akure.
The INEC boss was accompanied by six national commissioners including Festus Okoye,who is in charge of information and voter education committee .
