Ondo Amotekun arrests 4000 suspects in five months

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as “Amotekun Corps,” says it arrested four thousand criminal suspects within the last five months.

The State Commander of the Corps,Adetuni Adeleye, who disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Akure said the suspects were arrested between January and May 2022 for various offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnappings, human trafficking among others .

Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye said the arrest of about four thousand suspects between January and may 2022, by the command has led to a sharp decrease in criminal activities in the state.

He attributed the successes recorded so far to effective collaboration between border states and other Security Agencies.

Adeleye during the media briefing also noted that Grassroots security network is key to solving the security challenges confronting the nation.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Adeleye maintained that the corps will remain Neutral on Political Activities .
