Residents of Ilara Mokin, in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, have called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of Thursday’s bank robbery attack on the only commercial bank in the community.
The attack which was carried out by about 15 armed men left three persons dead; a broadcast journalist, one police officer and a motorcyclist.
Some of the residents recounted how they escaped being hit by stray bullets fired by the armed robbers.
The latest incident has once again renewed calls to beef up security around commercial institutions in the country.
The Ondo State Police command said it is on the trail of the gunmen with assurance that they would soon be apprehended.
With the latest development, residents of Ilara Mokin will now have to travel to Akure, the state capital for subsequent bank transactions.
