The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has expressed the desire of his administration to implement anti-bullying policies and programs to end the scourge in various educational institutions across the State.
The Governor gave the assurance at a one-day workshop for strategic stakeholders which held in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The workshop brought together stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and community leaders, to discuss strategies for preventing bullying and promoting a culture of kindness among young individuals, especially in educational institutions in Ondo State.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was represented by the Chairman of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Victor Olabimtan said the government will continue to intensify efforts towards sustaining anti-bullying efforts and policies in Schools across the State.
He said that creating a safe and supportive environment, including the development of anti-bullying policies and programs to drive the crusade to its logical conclusion will be prioritised by the Government
Other Speakers agreed that it is possible to create a bullying-free environment and society where every child can thrive.
The one-day workshop came just few days to the 2025 International Children’s Day Celebration with the theme, “Stand Up, Speak Up: Bullying-Free Generation”.
