Ondo State have been encouraged to voluntarily donate blood at designated health centres across the state. This appeal comes as part of efforts to ensure the availability of safe blood for those in need of transfusions.
The call was made by the Ondo State Government in collaboration with medical professionals at an event held to commemorate the 2025 World Blood Donor Day.
Speaking at the event, Director of Medical Laboratory Services in the State Ministry of Health, Richard Adesoji, emphasized the critical need for functional and well-equipped blood banks in all health facilities across the state, particularly for emergencies.

Adesoji, along with other health experts, highlighted the life-saving importance of regular blood donation by healthy individuals, noting that it costs nothing to donate, but could mean everything to someone in need.
He said the State Government remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery systems and ensuring a healthy population.
The theme for the 2025 World Blood Donor Day is “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.”
