The Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has elected Olopade Ademola as the new chairman of the Congress in the state.
Ademola, who is the State Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), emerged winner in a by-election following the retirement of Victor Amoko, who left public service eight months ago.
Olopade was declared winner after his lone opponent, Akinyemi Olatunbosun of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), withdrew from the race.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of the state’s NLC promised to negotiate enhanced welfare packages for workers.
Olopade Ademola also noted that his election is just another opportunity to represent the interest of workers in the coastal state at a much higher level.
