Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has urged the Federal Government to legalise the use of marijuana solely for the production of CBD drugs in the country.
Fielding questions from State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Akeredolu said CBD can be extracted from marijuana and is a potent drug in the treatment of cancer.

He expressed concern that Nigeria is still spends huge amount of money importing the drug when it can be produced locally.

On whether his support for the formation of the South-West Security Outfit Amotekun is because of his reelection bid, the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum said Ondo State has already done enough in terms of security and does not really need Amotekun.

He said Ondo civil servants are the happiest in the country because their salaries are paid promptly and has commenced the payment of the new national minimum wage.

The Governor explained that he was at the Presidential Villa to invite President Buhari for the commissioning of the newly constructed Benin – Ore flyover.
