One person has been confirmed dead and two others injured from a foiled robbery operation that took place at the Zone E Extension area of the Apo Resettlement area of the Federal Capital Territory
In a statement signed by the FCT Police Command, the attackers were said to have engaged the police team in a gun battle, leading to the arrival of a reinforcement team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Isyaku Sharu.
The statement said the operatives responded with superior firepower, forcing the assailants to flee into the surrounding hills.

The statement said that during the operation, a motor vehicle belonging to one of the victims was recovered at the scene, while all injured persons were immediately taken to the hospital.
One of them later died
The Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, said his command remains fully committed to protecting lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory and appealed to members of the public to report anyone seen with gunshot wounds or any suspicious form of injury to the nearest police station
