One killed as terrorists invade Gusau metropolis in Zamfara

At least one person was reportedly killed by suspected terrorists who invaded Damban area of Gusau metropolis last Monday Night.

Eyewitnesses said the Suspected terrorists stormed Sabo Gari Damban at 11:10 PM where they were trying to break into the residence of one of the members of the community.

The occupants of the residence which the Suspected terrorists were attacking cried out for help, when a neighbor named, Bako Kure rushed out to assist them, when the Suspected terrorists shot him to death.

One of the daughters of the deceased, Hauwa Bako narrated what transpired that led to her father’s death on that fateful night.

The chairrman of the Southern Peoples Union, SOKAPU, Zamfara State branch, Barnabas Wuyah described the incident as unfortunate, sad and highly condemnable.

He appealed to Government to step up the fight against the insecurity bedeviling Zamfara State and the country at large so that citizens can go about their lawful businesses and sleep with their two eyes closed.

Bako Kure who loss his live as a result of the Suspected terrorists attacks at Sabo Gari Damban area of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital hailed from Kwoi local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Efforts to get the Zamfara State Police command were unsuccessful as the phone lines of the Police Public Relations Officer Superintendent Mohammed Shehu were not going through.

It would be recalled that this is not the first time Suspected terrorists would invade Damban area of Gusau metropolis to attack, kill and abduct innocent citizens in the area.
