One person has been confirmed dead and another has sustained 70 degree burn following a pipeline explosion at Diamond Estate/idowu Egba in Isheri area of lagos on thursday.
A pipeline located within the estate was said to have ruptured early Thursday morning through the activities of suspected vandals and spilled petrol .
This resulted in a fire outbreak at four points.
The managing director of LASEMA, Olufemi Oke- Osanyitolu who confirmed the incident in a statement said the man who sustained 70 degree burns was rescued and and has been rushed to the General Hospital Alimosho. Another adult male was burnt to death, his body has been bagged and taken to mortuary
LASEMA Response Team and other responders are taking measures to minimize the risk of further explosion. The affected area has also been cordoned off while emergency responders are on ground to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Operation is still ongoing.
