OPHD Troops Rescue 35 Hostages, Kill 2 Terrorists In Katsina State

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD), have rescued thirty-five kidnapped victims and neutralized two suspected terrorists in Katsina State in a search and rescue operation.

A statement issued by the Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim said the feat was achieved on 27th January 2024, during a clearance operation in some identified suspected terrorist camps at Dumburum forest.

It explained that during the operation, the troops had an encounter with the armed terrorists, where they neutralizing two of the suspected terrorists while others escaped with severe gunshot wounds.

The Press statement indicates that the rescued victims include; nineteen males and twelve females as well as four children, who were immediately handed over to the Katsina State government officials by the Commander of 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation HADARIN DAJI, Brigadier General OA Fadairo.

It noted that Brigadier General Fadairo has pledged to continue the attack on the terrorist enclaves until security is fully restored in the areas.
