OPHD Troops Rescue 52 Hostages In Sokoto

Troops of the Joint Taskforce NorthWest Operation Hadarin Daji have rescued fifty-two hostages in a successful and coordinated operation at Isah Local Government Area of Sokoto State in Northwest Nigeria.

A top military source said, it is in continuation with the onslaught against terrorists through a series of clearance operations in their Areas of Responsibility, the combined troops rescued the fifty-two hostages.

The feat was recorded on 22nd December 2023, when the troops cleared and destroyed terrorist enclaves at Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gun Dumping forest in Isa LGA of Sokoto State.

During the operation, the troops of the OPHD also neutralized several terrorists.

The rescued victims include; 14 Males, 32 Females, and 6 children who will undergo medical check-ups, debriefs, and handovers to appropriate authorities to reunite them with their families.
