The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has won the Chairmanship Election for the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The PDP also had a clean win of 9 Councillorship positions, while the ruling All Progressives Party won only one seat.
Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Dr. Ibrahim DanMaraya, from Kaduna State University, (KASU), said Honourable Ibrahim Gajere, of the PDP, polled 14,432 to floor the immediate past Chairman and candidate of the APC, Honourable Cafra AB Caino, who trailed behind with 9,095 votes.

The result for the Chikun Council is still being awaited.
The State’s Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), had initially scheduled the election to take place on September 4, 2021, but was rescheduled for this Saturday, citing security reasons.
