Organised Labour in Ogun state says there is no going back on their indefinite strike, until the state government addresses the issues with their Contributory Pension Scheme.

The union leaders which consists of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Joint Negotiation Committee (JNC) said this on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the reasons behind the strike

They insist on meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun directly, saying no other official would be accepted to serve as a representative in the ongoing negotiations.

The workers embarked on an indefinite strike due to the non-remittance of their pension funds.

They are also demanding the suspension of the state pension reform law, saying that it has failed in its objective as successive governments in the past 17 years have failed to remit over N82bn.

The union explained that it is not embarking on trade dispute to cripple the economy, rather it is a fight for their rights.

State Chairman of NLC, Commrade Hameed-Benco Ademola, said several letters and engagements with government officials have yielded no results.
