A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the suit seeking to transfer to its Lagos Division, the fresh trial of former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and two others, in an alleged 7.1 billion Naira fraud, by the Federal Government.

Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the suit filed by the commission of the Economic and financial crime for lack of merit.

Justice Ekwo described the prosecution counsel’s request for the transfer of the case as an abuse of the court process, as a letter had been written earlier to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, seeking for transfer.
