The Benue State Government has constituted the inaugural State House of Assembly Service Commission tasked with the responsibility of laying a solid foundation on which future members will build on.
State Governor Samuel Ortom who inaugurated the commission with a four year term at the government house Makurdi urged them to be guided by the extant laws governing the commission’s activities.
Governor Ortom said their appointment was based on previous experience, competence and adherence to the doctrine of fair representation.
He noted that the autonomy for state Assemblies was for administrative convenience and expressed hope that the cordial working relationship between the legislature and the executive arm subsists.
