The chairman of the Benue state judicial commission of inquiry, investigating income and expenditure of the previous administration in the State has ordered the accountant general, ministry of finance, bureau for internal affairs and that of local government administration and their chairmen to appear before it on August 14, 2024 with records of receipt and expenditure.
Chairman of the commission, Justice Taiwo Taiwo gave the directive at the inaugural sitting of the commission in Makurdi the State capital.

Reacting to the development, solicitor general and permanent secretary ministry of Justice Terna Suleh said government officials must be held accountable in the use of State treasury for a better society.
The Commission Of Inquiry was constituted in February this year but was restrained by an experte order obtained by the former Governor Samuel Ortom which has now been set aside.
