Nigerian Grammy awards winner, singer, and the 2023 Academy Awards nominee, Temilade Openiyi, TEMS, has been receiving backlash following her outfit at the Oscars held Sunday, March 12th, 2023 in Hollywood, Dolby Theatre Los Angeles, California United States.

The Crazy Tings singer who was nominated in the Best Original song category for featuring on Rihanna’s song Lift Me Up was decked in a stunning white gown from Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture to the award ceremony.

Her outfit was however termed selfish and disrespectful because of its view-blocking headpiece.

Social media trolls did not mince words in expressing their grievances after Oscars attendees shared photos of guests who sat behind Tems struggling to see.

A guest Jarrett Bellini took to his Twitter to discuss Tems.

His words: “Imagine waiting your whole life to be at the Oscars and you end up sitting behind a stratus cloud.”

Prince also commented under the post “LMFAO I know whoever is behind Tems is heated”.

Another netizen Mission Girl did not sugarcoat her words saying Tems disrespected the people who attended the Oscars award; she wrote:

“This is so disrespectful to the people sitting behind her”,
