Osinbajo chairs second National Economic Council Meeting for 2021

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently charing the 2nd monthly meeting of the national economic council at the Presidential villa, Abuja.

About 20 governors are physically attending the meeting while others are being represented by their deputies.

This is the first time NEC is holding physically since the outbreak of the covid 19 pandemic in the country in Feburary 2020, Previous meeting have been held virtually in line with Nigerian center for disease control protocols.

Also in attendance is the secretary to the government of the Federation Boss Mustapha and the Minister’s of Finance, budget and National Planning Zainab Ahmed, Labour and productivity Chris Ngige and Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq.

The meeting is expected to deliberate on the state of voter access to polling units in Nigeria as well as update on general security situation and the implementation of community policing in the states.

NEC will also receive presentation on the pulling out of 100 milliion Nigerians out of poverty in ten years by the chairman presidential economic advisory committee.

It will also receive presentation on the reviewed national integrated infastructure master plan (NIIMP) by the minister of state, budget and national planning.
