Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has condemned the killing of rice farmers in Borno state by Boko Haram members assuring that the Federal government will work round the clock to tackle security challenges in the nation.
Yemi Osibajo said this during a one day visit in Nasarawa state to commission the state’s infectious disease and diagnostic research centre and other projects in Lafia the state capital.
The killing of rice farmers over the weekend is seen as a tragedy to the country. The vice president said at the event that the federal government will deal with the consistent random killings of innocent Nigerians and also embark on local surveillance to tackle the insecurity in the northeast and across the country.

Osinbajo while commissioning the Nasarawa state infectious disease and diagnostic research centre acknowledged that the center is the best in west Africa , which will go a long way in addressing the issue of covid-19 testing , treatment as well as other diseases.
The host, Governor Abdullahi Sule noted that the centre will also serve as a research hub critical for innovation and scientific guidance for treatment of diseases
Osinbajo also commissioned the VIP lounge and other projects including some empowerment facilities for youths in the state to make them self reliant.
