The Nigerian Army says it has within the past few months, successfully carried out military expeditions in combating banditry and other forms of insecurity, within areas under the jurisdiction of the 1 Division, Nigerian Army.
The outgoing General Officer Commanding, GOC, One Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi, said this during the handing over ceremony to the new GOC in Kaduna.
He said that, with the ongoing operation in Niger State, the military has taken over areas that were earlier captured by Boko Haram in Niger State.

Ali-Keffi further stated that the military was also successful in its operations along the Birnin Gwari axis, and other hideouts of bandits, within its area of operation.
The new GOC of 1 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Kabir Mukhtar, assured that he will continue to sustain the efforts, in addressing security challenges, within the division’s area of responsibility.
