No fewer than 20 farmers have been reportedly killed in the early hours of Thursday, during a coordinated attack on two communities in Heipang, near the Yakubu Gowon International Airport in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attackers were said to have invaded the two communities, which are Batin and Rayogotat, at about 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, while the people were asleep.

An eyewitness, Davou Bulus, said a young family of one Dung Mark, his wife, and children were among those killed in the attack, which also left many people with various injuries.
He accused Fulani Herdsmen of carrying out the attacks.
Efforts to reach the Plateau State Police Command on the incident were unsuccessful.
However, the Traditional Ruler of Heipang, HRH Paul Tok, who described the attack as an act of terrorism, said five out of the 20 People killed were burned to death.
He calls on the government to raid some communities suspected to be the camps of the attackers.
At the time of filing this report, tension was mounting in Heipang and the entire Barkin-Ladi Council Area, as angry community members trooped out, blocking major roads, while those heading to the Airport area were advised to go back.
